Main Title : Grandfather Films - Douglas Morse, Director
Grandfather Films

Bio

Douglas Morse is a New York independent filmmaker. His first film, The Adulterer, received some great notices, won Best of Fest at the Sarasota International Film Festival but did not find distribution. Since, he has turned to self-distribution with surprising success. 2000 Miles to Maine: Adventures on the Appalachian Trail sells well through several on-line and brick and mortar outlets such as LL Bean and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.

His next two films, The Summoning of Everyman (2007) and The Merchant of Venice (2008) are aimed squarely at the academic market and again Doug is pursuing self distribution with these titles. Recently Doug was a Visiting Scholar at The University of Cambridge where he pursued research into the source stories of Everyman and directed the stage production of Merchant, now in post production. Doug is a professor of Screenwriting and Script Analysis at The New School and has taught Producing the Low Budget Feature at NYU. Doug's main focus is writing and directing, though by necessity he has worked as a videographer, editor, sound designer and distributor and enjoyed (and been challenged by) all aspects of the filmmaking process.

He and his wife, Professor Heide Estes and their son Zeke live in Washington Heights. He received his MFA from New York University. He has recently joined Facebook and LinkedIn and you should try to find him there.
