The Brooklyn Academy of Music’s busy sponsorship department is seeking an intern. The position is available immediately. A small stipend is available. Schedule is flexible (two to three days per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, energetic self-starter interested in learning about the fast-paced world of arts administration and arts fundraising. Specific responsibilities will include:
* Researching corporate prospects
* Assisting efforts to generate underwriting support for special events
* Drafting proposals, reports, cover, and acknowledgement letters
* Compiling sponsor packages
* Assisting sponsor servicing
* Maintaining updated data files and database information
Requirements: Excellent organizational, writing, and telephone/communication skills; Word and Excel for Windows; some evening/weekend hours are optional.
About BAM: BAM presented its first performance in 1861 and began operations in its present building in 1908. The Academy is a not-for-profit institution that has grown into a model urban arts center focused on both international issues in the arts and local community needs.
