"Poets on Poetry": Saskia Hamilton
New School BA Core Faculty Patricia Carlin & Deborah Landau invite you to join them & their poetry classes for the following event tomorrow:
"Poets on Poetry": Saskia Hamilton
Tuesday, December 2: Saskia Hamilton
2:00 - 3:00 in Room 510 (66 West 12th Street)
Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 510, poet Saskia Hamilton will read new work, and discuss the craft of writing. An informal discussion will follow. This is an opportunity to hear and speak with a truly remarkable poet, who is signally unlike any other. Jorie Graham says of this writer, ". . . with grace and technical ease, she breaches the chasms that appear to divide 'experimental' poetics, classical fragments, Romantic aphoristic debris, and Oriental glimpsing of the ineffable." And Forrest Gander remarks of her love poems, "We are taken, figuratively and literally, by storm."
