Scholarship Opportunities

The Financial Aid Office has been notified of the following scholarship and fellowship opportunities:

The Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council, Inc. is accepting applications for its Ann Marie Brown Memorial Scholarship. This award is made to residents of Nassau or Suffolk County, who are Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students studying Journalism, Communication Arts, or Healthcare Administration. The application deadline is May 17, 2004. Applications are online at www.nshc.org.

The Korean-American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) is now accepting applications for the fall, 2004 scholarships. The scholarship applications, requirements and the terms and condition can be downloaded via http://www/kasf.org (go to "Scholarship Application" and then to Northeastern Regional Chapter on the map). The completed application together with all necessary documentation must be submitted by June 30, 2004.

The Hebrew Free Loan Society administers several scholarships for Jewish- American students from, or studying in, the New York City Metropolitan Area. One of its awards is also open to Israeli Graduate students in specific fields who have the intent of returning to Israel upon completion of their studies. Applications and further information can be found at the New School University Financial Aid Office or online at www.ujafedny.org/hfls. The deadline for all awards is June 1, 2004.

The Ayn Rand Institute is accepting entries for its essay contest on Ayn Rand’s Novel, Atlas Shrugged. Essay questions and awarding information can be found online at www.aynrand.org/contests. Awards are for up to $5,000. The deadline for this competition is September 16, 2004.

The CIRI Foundation is accepting scholarship and grant applications for its scholarship programs this coming year. Awards are made to Alaska Natives with preference to descendents of the Cook Inlet Region. The deadline for these scholarships and grants is June 1, 2004. Applications and additional information can be found online at www.ciri.com/tcf.
