New School University and its Milano Graduate School division will host a series of roundtable conversations, “Where Red Meets Blue: Conversations with Republicans,” on Tuesday, August 31 in the Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, 55 West 13th Street, 2nd Floor.
The conversations will address critical urban issues facing politicians and the electorate. Most majority-Republican states (red on the news media’s electoral vote maps) have growing urban populations, and suburbs that are becoming more diverse and more concerned with issues long identified with Democratic constituencies, guiding the economic power of massive urban immigration, pursuing comprehensive public education reform; investing in affordable housing and devising creative approached to community and economic development.
