Are you confused about the kinds of education-related Federal Tax Benefits you could be eligible to claim this tax year? Fortunately, help in figuring out these benefits is available! The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) publishes the Parent and Student Guide to Federal Tax Benefits for Tuition and Fees to provide students, parents, counselors, and others with general guidance to federal education-related tax benefits. The Guide includes basic information about the federal Hope Scholarship tax credit, the Lifetime Learning tax credit, and the Tuition and Fees Tax Deduction. Need Financial Aid for Next Year?
All degree-seeking students should apply for Federal Student Financial Assistance including Pell Grants, Federal Work Study, and Federal Stafford Loans, by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We encourage you to file online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Our school code is 002780. Instructions and other useful materials can be obtained at the Financial Aid Office at 65 Fifth Avenue. Undergraduate International Students can also apply for financial aid by completing an International Student Scholarship Application. A Better Earth Essay Contest
A Better Earth is an educational organization looking for insightful, well-reasoned essays that address one out of the three environmental case studies provided to you. Rotary World Peace Scholarships - Worldwide
The Rotary Foundation is now accepting applications for the Rotary World Peace Scholarship. Successful candidates pursue a master’s level degree in International Studies, Peace Studies, and Conflict Resolution at one of the eight Rotary partner universities: University of California, Berkeley; Duke University; University of North Carolina; Sciences Po; International Christian University; University of Queensland; Universidad Del Salvador. Stony Wold-Herbert Fund, Inc.
The Stony Wold-Herbert Fund is a privately endowed fund committed to respiratory health. They make supplementary aid available on a monthly basis to students afflicted with a respiratory disease who are attending school within the greater New York City area, or are New York City residents (within a 50 mile radius). Amount: $250 per month for the duration the student is in school, with a four-year cap. Eligibility: Students must: 1) be at least 16 years of age; 2) be pursuing an undergraduate pr technical degrees; and 3) are able to show financial need. Requirements: There is no formal application form, although they do require the following information:

Integrity Graphics Communications Scholarship Awards
This scholarship was set up to recognize the stellar work being done by college students in the areas of digital photography, graphic design, and website design. Integrity Graphic, Inc. will be awarding three top prizes in the three main categories. The top winners will each receive a $2000 scholarship that will help pay for educational costs. The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship
The Sallie Mae Fund will provide $1 million in 2005 to help meet last dollar needs of low-income students through the Unmet Need Scholarship Program. Amount: $1,000 - $3,800. Deadline: May 31, 2005. Eligibility: Students must:

Eligibility: Applicants must: 1) be of Italian American origin; 2) already attend college or a university; 3) reside in the Bronx or Westchester OR attend a college or university located in the Bronx or Westchester OR be an active member of a chapter of FIERI National. International Furnishings & Design Association Student Scholarships
The IFDA Educational Foundation Board of Trustees, based on the student's academic achievement, awards and accomplishments, future plans and goals, and letter of recommendation will select scholarship winners. A variety of scholarships are available and have differing requirements. Undergraduates and graduates students with majors or career interests in Design, Marketing, Arts (general), Graphic Arts/Design, and Education are encouraged to apply. Amount range: $1000 to $1500. Deadline: March 31, 2005. Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in full-time study at an accredited college or university; applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, character, seriousness of purpose, service to others. Note that some scholarships require IFDA membership (student membership fee is $45), and applicants must have completed at least one semester of postsecondary school. The LULAC National Scholarship Fund
The League of United Latin American Citizens offers the National Scholarship Fund, which was designed to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged but academically gifted Latino students in the U.S. Students can be either in undergraduate or graduate programs. Previous recipients are now leaders in the fields of business, medicine, education, government and industry members of congress, university professors, corporation heads, and social servants.
Amount range: $250 to $1,000. Deadline: March 31, 2005. Eligibility: Students must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent residents of Latino heritage in a full-time degree program. An essay and a transcript will be requested and the student must demonstrate academic achievement. Students cannot be related to a LULAC scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council.
