Travis Klose will talk about and screen excerpts form his documentary "Arakimentari" about world-famous and controversial Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki
A truly independent production, shot on DV, "Arakimentari" presents a good example of a long filmmaker's journey with a happy ending.
The film includes interviews with Bjork, Richard Kern, Takeshi Kitano, music by DJ Krush; It screened at Slamdance, Cinequest, Hot Docs, won the 2004 Audience Award for Best Documentary at The Brooklyn International Film Festival, editing award at the Honolulu Intl. Film Festival, and got US and international theatrical and TV/ video distribution with Tartan Films.
