Japan Teaching and Exchange Program

Recruitment for the 2006 - 2007 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program is underway. The government-sponsored JET Program hires college graduates from the United States, as well as 43 other countries, to work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) or Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) for a period of one to three years. The Japanese government started the JET Program 19 years ago to promote grass-roots international and cultural understanding between Japan and other nations. Since the program’s inception in 1987, over 40,000 participants have worked in Japan and the interest continues to increase. The deadline for the 2006 - 2007 JET Program is November 29, 2005.
