Children's PressLine is a non-profit media & youth leadership organization that works with kids, ages 8 to 18. We teach kids to be journalists who advocate for their peers through the media. Our mission is to give kids a voice & the power to use it. Our work is read in the New York Amsterdam News and distributed to 400 newspapers nationwide through the Scripps Howard News Service. Internship
*Editorial Coordinators* will be responsible for managing teams of youth journalists as they research, brief and interview their peers around the world. By outreaching to youth-serving organizations, the intern will coordinate peer-to-peer interviews between CPL journalists and kids across the country. Topics are youth- and adult-generated. Some transcribing may be involved.

Interns will also be responsible for working directly with teen editors to engage them in the story coordinating process.

As projects develop in the office, intern will be responsible for independently managing aspects of an assignment. Interns will work directly with program director & gain nonprofit & editorial management skills. Interns need to be able to work independently, understand the value of deadlines & have excellent research & phone skills.

It is an unpaid position with the ability to grow into something more permanent. College credit is available. Editorial Coordinators must be able to work 15-20 hours a week, mostly during the after-school hours. Please send a cover letter or resume to cpl@cplmedia.org.
