Summer Study Abroad opportunity
Art Workshop International is collaborating with The New School Writing Program to offer Bachelor's students an opportunity to study for credit in Assisi, Italy this summer. Courses will run in two sessions, from July 26-August 8 and August 9-August 22. This is AWI's 26th year in the fabled 12th century Umbrian hill town of St. Francis, and the program's hotel headquarters are comfortable and air-conditioned. The 3-credit writing courses this summer include fiction courses taught by Helen Schulman and Jonathan Dee, poetry workshops taught by Deborah Landau and Matthew Zapruder, and a memoir workshop taught by Nick Flynn. To receive credit for the program students must register for an independent study with Deborah Landau (landaud@newschool.edu). Additionally, AWI will be offering a non-credit immersive Italian language course taught by New School professor Caterina Bertolotto.
