Maria Yatskova's Film Supported by Sundance

[Here's another message from a Bachelor's Program alumna, Maria Yatskova. tq]

Greetings!

The Miss GULAG team — Maria Yatskova, Irina Vodar, and Raphaela Neihausen — are thrilled and honored to announce that our film Miss GULAG has been awarded a grant by the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund. Miss GULAG was selected by a committee of human rights experts and film professionals in the work-in-progress category.

Once again we'd like thank everyone for their support, and we look forward to completing Miss GULAG in the months to come!

And check out our newly updated and redesigned website.

Dear Mrs Yatskova,

I'm Carsten, we met each other in Belgium ten years ago, perhaps you remember me vaguely. (Not Thorsten but the other German.)

I just want to say I was pretty impressed to read your name in the newspaper as one of the movie directors of the Berlin film festival. When already your first documentary is admitted to a festival of such a importance, you must be really talented.

Unfortunateyl, I haven't had the opportunity to watch "Miss Gulag" yet. So I've to wait until the DVD will be released.

I wish you all the best for your professional career,

Carsten
