Truth Be Told: Three Evenings of Documentary Films

The inaugural class in Documentary Media Studies presents three evenings of short documentaries, final work from the program. These films are the product of a year of intensive work in documentary production in conjunction with an engaged study of documentary history and theory.

The New School’s program in Documentary Media Studies is a one-year, full-time, graduate-level certificate. The program offers the unique opportunity to study documentary history, theory, and practice in a small, intensive program situated in New York City, the world’s documentary capital. The first class, made up of 18 students with backgrounds spanning social work to criminology to photography, are directing and editing their own short documentary projects.
